Welcome to the 2009 season of the Golden State Soccer League
For team managers
Each team is to provide a match report (game card) to the referee for each game. The referee will keep both; one to mail to the match secretary and one for his/her own record. Each team manager should keep a duplicate report as a record of the match. Verify match result with the referee.
Match reports (game cards) are available for printing from our website, each team print two (2) for each match.
The team manager of the home team is to provide a business sized (#10) envelope, with first class postage, addressed to the match secretary of the division in which the team plays. A list of match secretaries can be found on the contacts page of this web-site.
The referees have been asked to not start any match until the match reports and envelope have been provided.
All credentials for players and coaches must be brought to each game: laminated player and coach passes and 1601 medical release forms with original signature of the each player’s parent or legal guardian.
Please ensure that all trash generated by your team is picked up after the match and deposited in the proper receptacles. If no receptacle, take your trash with you when leaving the field. Have trash bags available for this purpose.
Whether your team wins, draws or looses, please be sure to report all match results to the match secretary promptly following the match by emailing the game results to the match secretary responsible for your division.
Provide:
Subject line of e-mail - GSSL Match Result Gender Age Division
Match number.
Date of the match.
Gender - age group - division.
Home team name and the number of goals scored.
Away team name and number of goals scored
For team coaches
Your team is participating in a league that operates throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and as such is a reflection of your club and community. Please ensure that players and supporters accompanying the team behave in manner that provides a positive image of your club and community.
Please read and familiarize yourself with the GSSL Behavior Policy. It can be obtained from our website on the rules/FAQ page. Please require that your players and team supporters abide by this policy at all times during the time the team is present at the match sites.
Please be sure that all match results are reported to the match secretary promptly following each match.
For referees
Please ensure that all goal frames are anchored securely – report deficiencies.
Please inspect the playing field for any safety obstructions – report deficiencies.
Please be sure to add the names (not just the numbers) of players who areissued yellow cards.
Please be sure that all players and coaches have laminated passes issued for the teams that will be participating in the match that you will be officiating. Check the team name on each pass. There is no exception to this requirement.
Prior to each match, please be sure to get a match report from each team. One report is for your records the other is to be mailed to the match secretary.
Prior to each match be sure to get an envelope stamped and addressed to the match secretary. You are at liberty to refuse to start the match until it has been provided.
Please ensure that the match report is completed following the match and that all hand-written comments and names are legible.
Please include telephone numbers of the referee and assistant referees on the match report.
Please mail match report promptly following the match. Please do not hold on to the match report of game where a red card was issued, record the red card incident (player or coach name) and send to the match secretary.
When necessary, please write reports of players and coaches who were sent off. Mail those reports, along with player passes and copies of the match reports, to the disciplinary chairperson within 24 hours of the match. For clubs hosting games –
Please ensure the following:
If a multi-field complex, please be sure that fields are identified.
All fields are of adequate size for the age group of teams.
All grass mowed to an acceptable length.
All fields inspected to ensure the safety of the players and officials.
All fields properly and clearly marked.
All goal frames are securely anchored.
All corner flags in place and of regulation height.
Adequate toilet facilities are available.
Adequate trash receptacles are available.
